After 15 years as a corporate marketing executive, Rob Shields decided to trade in his business suit for a wet-suit, pursue personal interests, and scuba dive in remote yet affordable chilled-out locales. Rob now creates, produces and hosts GreatDives.TV.

Great Dives TV (GDTV) explores great dives on land and sea in less traveled scuba meccas.

Approximately 1/3 of the program content is shot underwater in high-definition video, and edited to music, narration, and character voices. We take viewers on great underwater adventures, focusing on the dive experience, corals and wildlife.

With GDTV, viewers also get to explore the best places to eat, drink, and socialize. We seek the most fun for the best value. Music, humour, superb visuals, and personality drive the show, with land-dive excursions and food-related segments widening the appeal.

Cast members are also the production and diving crew. The reality-based story line follows the creation of the show under a variety of unusual circumstances. Some of the cast come and go, but Rob and three other core cast members carry the load.

Danny does location sound, shoots second camera, edits the rough cuts, hosts and interviews, and creates the music. Danny has a decade of experience as a sound producer and video editor. He also fronts Coldspot, an original Canadian rock band.

Omri is the principal underwater and land cameraman. He is from Israel where he was a professional photographer and underwater videographer. His technical and composition talents are highlighted by his diving prowess, having made over 7,000 dives and being a qualified SSI instructor.

Hans is originally from Germany, but has lived in Honduras for 15 years. He is our still photographer and dive leader. He is a PADI instructor and owner of Ecomarine Gunters Dive Shop on Utila.

GDTV is a fun, fascinating, twisted, inside look at the great dives, great times, great people and places that make diving so much fun.
